I quickly realized that I didn’t want to have extravagant decorations, because I wanted the natural beauty of the venue to be the focal point. This was a big hit with the guests.[/field]
For the ceremony, I chose a strapless lace drop-waist gown by Lee Petra Grebenau from their Spring / Summer 2024 collection. Despite having a strong vision for all of the other looks for the weekend, I had no specific vision of what I was looking for for my ceremony dress which made it even harder.
Although we used mostly local vendors we decided to fly in Liz Banfield, who photographed our entire wedding weekend, from our private family church ceremony on Thursday through to our exit on Saturday night. We had a string quartet from Vineyard Violin perform our ceremony music.
Michael and I met in college in 2015 and officially started dating in 2016. field] [field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”][/field] [field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Michael wore a Hugo Boss tuxedo, custom cuff links, and a day date Rolex. Another major piece of decor was our mirror welcome sign. Were MARRIED!
It culminated with a Catholic ceremony on the steps of Saint Stanislaus Church in Altos De Chavon, followed by a wedding reception at a private ocean-side villa in Casa De Campo on February 10th, 2024. They became fast friends after first meeting at a Topaz Jones show in 2016 at Trans-Pecos in Queens.

The atmosphere was reminiscent of an intimate garden party, where guests were enchanted by romance and beauty surrounding them as the sun set upon an incredible day.
field] [field title=”Proposal Story”]Alex and I met in 2016 through mutual friends. field] [field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Alex had a tailor made navy tuxedo from Purple Label by Ralph Lauren and groomsmen were in navy suits.[/field] Hearing beautiful speeches from our parents and siblings.
My parents visited Palmetto Bluff in 2016. ” Dresses were from Show Me Your Mumu[/field] [field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Chris wore a Loro Piana custom tux that has their wedding date embroidered under the lapel. In order to make those stand out, we had other details settle into the background. ” – Taylor.
For my reception dress, I wore a 2016 Monique Lhuillier beaded mini dress that I got on Poshmark! field] [field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The groom wore a midnight blue tuxedo with black lapels, that was custom made in Baltimore, Maryland. We greeted guests with prosecco & Lavender lemonade for the ceremony.
Although the venue is gorgeous with high ceilings and a ton of character lending to its history, we wanted to turn it into a garden vibe and create that WOW moment both when walking into ceremony and then again after the room turn, when seeing the reception decked out in white and textural details.[/field]
field] [field title=”Proposal Story”] In the fall of 2016, we met briefly at the University of Alabama. field] [field title=”Groomsman Attire”]For the ceremony, J.R. After the ceremony, he exchanged his tux jacket for a white dinner jacket and wore that for our sunset photos and the reception.
Fast forward to the summer of 2016, which is when we officially started dating. Theres actual photo evidence of Riley and me at age 10 tubing together which weve tried to recreate many times. During one of those trips to the lake, Riley and I developed middle-school crushes on each other that didnt go away even as we got older.
