The voluminous skirt was detachable so she could go from a show-stopping and romantic look at a ceremony to a chic and refined ensemble at the reception. She had sleeves added for a little extra romance! She then changed into an iridescent sparkly jumpsuit for their 70’s themed band set to finish off the party of their lives!
With having a blacktie wedding, and having the guys in black tuxes, she knew the champagne would be the perfect neutral touch. The next area that was something they knew would elevate their ceremony & reception was rented chairs. One part of the reception they were most excited about was the martini room.
Natural wood accents added warmth and authenticity, featured in everything from the ceremony arch to and reception tables. [/field] [field title=”Wedding Cake”] The wedding cake was designed to resemble a porcelain sculpture, crafted with silky white chocolate ganache and filled with passion fruit and raspberry sponge. Lori included some of her own handcrafted made by Lori Irish porcelain to complete the aesthetic of the cake.[/field]
field] [field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The groomsmens attire, along with that of all the male guests, adhered to the black-tie dress code. The styles ranged from fashion-forward suitssuch as the grooms fathers sleek black Dior tuxedoto timeless, classic tuxedos, creating an elegant and sophisticated atmosphere.
field] [field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The guys kept things clean and classic while choosing to wear all black tux’s with black ties as well. Our groom had his own standout moment choosing a white bow tie to complete his look. Guests were able to grab a drink at their bar of choice!
[/field] [field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]Brooke’s bridesmaids all wore floor length black gowns. This added to the timeless elegance in her wedding vision, and was the perfect color choice for the blacktie affair! For the reception dinner, guests were served a duo entree of grilled filet and grouper.
I slipped into a custom modern red dress during our reception for a traditional Chinese Tea Ceremony and my after-party look was a fun 3D floral applique dress from By Watters. field] [field title=”Groomsman Attire”] Our wedding was a black-tieevent, and the groomsmen wore tuxedos from The Black Tux.

The ceremony dress featured exquisite floral elements and a romantic cut designed by Morilee in the style name Petal. The reception dress, with its more contemporary fabric and design, introduced a modern touch to the shoot and paired perfectly with the groom’s dinner tuxedo. [/field] [field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The venue, Willow & Oak in Creston, CA, was the perfect venue for our design and vision. We wanted a rustic, classy, and elegant reception. The guests started at the ceremony site, moved to the cocktail hour location and then on to the reception.

The wedding was blacktie, so Nick’s friends all wore tuxedos. After the reception, guests transitioned to an after-party where with a DJ and catering from the couple’s favorite Italian market, Mario’s, in Fort Myers. We had intentional restraint while designing to create a feeling of quiet luxury.
field] [field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Our wedding was blacktie, and Forrest and his groomsmen wore bow ties from the local brand Brackish with their tuxes. field] [field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”] At both weddings, I walked down the aisle to “Multiplied” by NeedtoBreathe.
The design included everything from an embellished tree stump arrangement to direct our guests to the ceremony site to an exuberant arrangement of baby’s breath as a focal point to our ceremony. We customized the dress with shoulder straps for the ceremony, which later came off for the reception. And it was fun to wear a second dress.
That is when I discovered the talented designer of Bremelia. I went back and forth with her designing a reception look I could dance the night away. For my reception dress I paired it with a simple badgley mischka heel and understated earring. I wanted something that would be the complete opposite of my ceremony dress.
We asked 21 wedding professionals to share their best tips for modernizing the ceremony and reception. Some of their standout advice included ditching traditional black-tie attire in favor of something more contemporary. No, that doesn't mean you can't have a formal event, but it does mean you can be a little more playful.
[/field] [field title=”Groomsman Attire”]Knowing that the bridesmaids dresses were going to be the eye-catchers with their colorful beauty, the groom and groomsmen went for traditional streamlined notch lapel black tuxedos with classic white dress shirts and patent leather shoes. It was equally decorative and scrumptious.[/field]
I loved the way the straps almost blended into my skin, so that the sleeves looked like part of the dress, as opposed to a jacket, and when I took the jacket off during the reception, the dress didn’t look like it had straps, but had all the support. Luckily, the two stunning venues are only about a 5 minute drive apart.
