When Shelby and Justin expressed that they would like to do an intimate cake cutting I recommended they work with Marble Made Cakes for a beautiful design that fit the overall vision and design of their day.
Kiawah River’s Farm House was selected as the primary backdrop for the wedding day’s festivities, known for its iconic live oak trees and riverfront surroundings. Guests celebrated the couple’s nuptials at a lawn front ceremony under the oaks, with the couple surrounded by a half-moon of floral compotes at their feet.
It was delivering both the outdoors and being in a lovely garden and enjoying the traditions of a classic wedding all in one. The tables were comprised of either stunning compote arrangements from The French Bouquet (those peonies though!) The groom himself chose red velvet for his own personal cake! or a bud vase runner.
An intimate, candlelit ceremony in the May River Chapel treated guests to heartfelt vows and stunning views of the May River at the back of the chapel. The chiffon fabric was perfect for the hot summer wedding day, lightweight and flowy in body, creating lots of visual movement and keeping the bridesmaids comfortable.

The florist, Daughters Floral, crafted a ceremony arch to compliment the natural beauty of the location while also adding an extra layer of texture to highlight the couple as they said their I Dos. The cake was laced with delicate white fondant flowers as a nod to the brides all white bouquet and floral embellishments of her own dress.

Sticking to our sage green and white color palette, we wanted in-season greenery and white florals to be incorporated and specifically, calla lilies for the bridal bouquet and groom buttonhole and babys breath for the bridesmaids bouquets. It felt like a mini reunion for all of us – including our photographer, Sergio!

I started loving seeing hints of purple in florals, and wanted to have small pops of color throughout my bouquet and throughout the ballroom. I think my favorite crafted detail were the bouquets. The first time that I cried the entire day was seeing mine and the bridesmaid’s bouquets when we arrived at the venue.

Of course, being in Sonoma we also had plenty of wine options, the first splash being served prior to guests being seated for the ceremony. Our Ceremony florals consisted of blooming aisle arrangements that had the most color of all of the arrangements, alternating purples and blue.
