And at every sister’s wedding, they wanted a headtable to be able to share their first married meal with their family! The headtable had place settings set with Heidi’s mother’s china!
It was a picturesque, modern-day “Father of the Bride” She wanted the vibe to be a romantic garden party with the feel of an intimate dinner party, but for 200 guests. She prepared a family style dinner to be served to each table, featuring the bride and groom’s favorite dishes.

While our groom described himself as a “Jeans and a T-Shirt” type of guy, our bride loved all things rich textures, velvet, and dressing up which led us to a day where casual & comfortable met formal & fancy.

There were patterns brought to life on the table with multiple texture elements. The headtable was a beautiful BBJ La Tavola linen. field] [field title=”Readings, Ceremony Music, Reception Songs”]The bride and groom chose to write private vows to one another which were spoken during a first touch.[/field]
It was now Mary’s turn to be the bride. There was a fun element where the groom’s father sang some songs with the band. Bride Courtney explains, Sander and I were there for New Years, and my mom called us and said, I booked Blue Hill for your wedding. Reflecting on that moment, the bride says, I found my dress and was more certain than I thought Id ever be. I love the huge tree so much and didnt want a flower arch obstructing it, the bride mentions.
There were special local beers that were specially chosen by our groom. For the reception, we brought the botanical garden indoors with plenty of florals for each table. For the headtable, we chose to create a simple greenery design for a natural touch and surrounded the front with plenty of tall floral arrangements.
Hers: Skinny Margarita & His: Vodka, ginger ale, lemon & lime or as the groom likes to call it, his “Golf Cocktail.” The bride’s favorite flowers, Ranunculus & white tulips, were incorporated throughout the wedding florals. A wedding planner turned bride!
We brought in lucite/acrylic in with the chairs, headtable “acrylic” place mats, and lucite napkin rings. With the color that came through in the floral and tables, the bride had her bridesmaids in white to create a very modern look with wedding party and ceremony moments.
Her reception dress, by designer Lela Rose, was also her rehearsal dinner dress, “I loved it so much I had to wear it again” said the bride.[/field] field] [field title=”Bridesmaid Dresses”]The bride’s sister, who was also the Maid of Honor, selected the blush pink bridesmaids gowns from Bellas Bridesmaids.
From the bride… Another memorable item on the day was a necklace I wore, which my mom gave to me on the wedding day. The bride wanted the headtable to feel as though you were dining amongst the flowers in an upside down garden. The combination of natural beauty and floral elegance was magical.

Our bride was heavily inspired by IG influencer, Champagne & Chanel’s wedding where the flowers were the focal point and having that true romantic, femininity come through was important. 6 other round tables flanked the headtable with sweet low centerpieces and more candles. He was also adorned in flowers!
field] [field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”]The bride’s family has spent every summer on Bald Head Island since Elisabeth was very young, so the meaningful location was a perfect fit when choosing a place. The bride’s love for Taylor Swift also had its moments throughout the day too![/field]
We brought in wood tables with the headtable and accented the dining tables with green napkins, gold flatware, and pink goblets. field] [field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The grooms all wore Hugo Boss custom tuxedos. We used the natural wood and landscaping of the venue to lead our design.
field] [field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”] The bride requested a romantic, elevated, and decadent celebration set at Dallas’ own local French chateau, with a whimsical twist to add some movement, life, and dimension to the day. .” We sought ivory & cream linens where we could play with textures.
The wine for the evening was generously donated by Chuck Wager of Caymus Vineyards and The Wager Family of Wines, he is a dear friend of the Grandparents of the Bride. It was the perfect spot to listen to music, have a glass (or mini bottle) of champagne, and ease the anxiety until she was ready to see her groom. The gals wanted to soak in all of the moments for her big day and decided to squeeze in a celebratory toast before heading down the hall for her fathers first look and first look with her groom!
The design turned out perfectly and the room reveal with the bride and groom was once of my favorites. We communicated in the exact same way and I had such a blast working with Whitney, Jason and Jacqueline to plan this amazing day.
The focal point of the ceremony was the stunning floral arbor, which continued to dazzle guests behind the bride and groom at the headtable. Florist Mallory Joyce exceeded expectations, bringing their vision to life with organic designs that mimicked the natural growth of flowers in their surroundings.
I kept thinking back on wedding photos and the overall vibe aligning with classic brides like Jackie Kennedy and Grace Kelly. The room was flipped during cocktail time, so when you re-entered the reception, a long headtable sat where the original aisle was during the ceremony.
The person who catches the bouquet is said to be married next Buck’s night- a gathering of the groom-to-be’s closest friends to celebrate their friendship and his upcoming marriage (also called a “bachelor party”) Buffet- a variety of dishes displayed on tables that guests can create their own plates from.
Cassie/bride: Shortly after getting engaged, I found a photoshoot that my florist Deb (From Peonies to Paintchips) had done for New Jersey Bride-it was the custom “picture frame” with all of the florals around it that would soon become my future alter/ceremony spot. We recreated it and applied it to the entire venue.
Coffee cups and croissant cufflinks were designed as a gift from the bride by Yingia Puk of New York. The groom walked out in black velvet slipper-style loafers from Del Torro. The guests enjoyed the specialty cocktails picked specially by the bride and groom. Diamond gin fizz for her and Mezcal old-fashioned for him.
