Later the ceremony space would be converted into a formal reception area. Guests dined under the trees and were transported into a beautiful spring garden detailed with an abundance of fresh florals. My maids of honour were my brother and sister who were also technically bridesmaids.

My mom couldn’t make it, so it was just me and my friend Lauren, one of my bridesmaids. I wanted all my bridesmaids to feel their best, so I chose different shades of dusty rose for their dresses.

I loved the way the straps almost blended into my skin, so that the sleeves looked like part of the dress, as opposed to a jacket, and when I took the jacket off during the reception, the dress didn’t look like it had straps, but had all the support. I wanted a mix of patterns and solids and to have some variety in textures.
