One of the first steps in eventplanning and management is to decide what kind of event you will be organizing and the driving purpose behind the event. It may be a small conference that focuses on educational sessions and breakouts. Or a networking event with cocktails and heavy apps.
Classes and seminars focus on education. These people should be on board with your decisions regarding the event setup and be able to easily visualize the layout and the flow of the event. These event diagrams should ideally be to-scale and include all elements (tables, chairs, furniture, etc.) that you are considering.
This could be custom coffee mugs containing their favorite coffee drink or cocktail/mocktail; their names spelled in icing on cookies or small cakes; staff members who welcome them by name in passing; and customized floorplans or eventdesigns based on their needs.
