We got engaged at Cumberland falls in KY. In the center of the room, coming straight from the dance floor toward the back of the room was the 32ft long kings table where the aisle pieces from ceremony were transferred and became the runner on top of this dramatic head table. It was private and intimate.

I found vintage peacocks at an antique store for the head table, and used them in my invites and wedding signage. So I was riding around Savannah, patting my pocket every 30 seconds to make sure the engagement ring (which belonged to my great grandmother) hadn’t fallen out. in January 2022. Then my Aunt Jan married us.

Matt then gathered all of their friends for an epic surprise engagement party at Rocco’s in Culver City. They hung chandeliers in the tree behind the head table. They mixed vibrant fall colors and black details to create ethereal table scapes. Shortly after popping champagne, they were up to their ankles in sea water.

So, the last weekend I had thought I would get engaged was a no-go. The room was flipped during cocktail time, so when you re-entered the reception, a long head table sat where the original aisle was during the ceremony. We filled in a lush and long row of baby’s breath down the length of the table.

Cassie/bride: Shortly after getting engaged, I found a photoshoot that my florist Deb (From Peonies to Paintchips) had done for New Jersey Bride-it was the custom “picture frame” with all of the florals around it that would soon become my future alter/ceremony spot. We recreated it and applied it to the entire venue.
