The day began with a firstlook at The Elms, the iconic Newport mansion. The transition to the reception at Eventide was nothing short of spectacular. When Casey and Kenny entered their reception, the excitement in the air was palpable. Guests marveled at the thoughtfulness and elegance in every detail.
In addition, as a surprise to the guests, she changed during the reception into a Marchesa Notte pale blue floral applique gown. [/field] [field title=”Groomsman Attire”]The groomsmen wore classic tuxedos from Men’s Wearhouse, and the groom wore a custom Navy with black accent tuxedo from Nita Fashions.
Though the wedding ceremony and reception were both held outdoors, we had fun continuing the emphasis and use of pattern, texture, and playful color pairings that guests notice and enjoy throughout the interior into the wedding design elements.
FirstLook Moments Before heading to the ceremony, Raychel shared two very special firstlooks. First, she shared a heartwarming moment with her dad, bringing happy tears to many eyes. We LOVE firstlooks at Simply Breathe Events. Peter’s on Capitol Hill. It was a true masterpiece.
This monogram became a recurring element throughout the event, appearing on the menu, floor decals, and a stunning 8ft black acrylic escort wall adorned with soft romantic floral arrangements and an abundance of candles (keep scrolling for their stunning reception setup!). As wedding planners, we always adore a firstlook.
On-site preparations kicked off the Tuesday before the wedding with tent crews arriving to start the installation for this 200-person event. The FirstLook At Simply Breathe Events, we LOVE a firstlook. For the reception design, we used a mix of warm wood tones, colorful blooms, candles, and rich textures.

Lovelily Flowers over delivered in every area, but one of the top WOW moments was her head table install we all dreamed up together. The vision was to have something up and over the head table to create a unique elevated moment in the reception room.[/field] It was center and close to the dance floor, so it was hard to miss.

An Enchanting FirstLook Moment at The Peabody Library The firstlook was a picture-perfect moment outside the iconic Peabody Library. The anticipation in the air was palpable as Veronica and Peter saw each other in their wedding attire for the first time.
The perfect location to create a blooming, spring setting for the bride and groom to have their firstlook and portraits. The light fabric allowed the warm sunshine against her skin during their firstlook and portraits. Light bounced from all angles from the southern-facing walls. Since the couple didn’t do a firstlook, the opted for a private boat ride around the sound post ceremony to enjoy time together before docking the boat and joining their guests on the dock! A string quartet played in the background, while a champagne cart was anchored at the front of the dock to greet guests with bubbles!

The wedding reception moved to the Grand Ballroom, where velvet couches surrounded the custom oval dancefloor. An array of glowing candles and magnificent floral installations overhead decorated each table. An outdoor cocktail hour channeled the same cathedral inspiration, with similar archways constructed behind the bar.

Chartreuse velvet linens on the reception tables were a beautiful backdrop to the corals, oranges and purple centerpieces and wildflower print fine china. Their tented beach wedding included a floral installation with elegant globe chandeliers that could almost pass for disco balls, which helped define the elegant yet fun ambiance. She accessorized the gown with a cathedral length veil, Loeffler and Randall shoes, and a crystal headband for the reception. Flowers included ranunculus, local dahlias, garden roses, taupe & blush sweetpeas, and a mix of bleached greenery.
Prior to their ceremony, the two opted to have a firstlook between just the two of them. Golden chairs surrounded the stage where Fleurs NYC ’s show-stopping floral installation hung directly in the center of it all. One of our favorite floral installation to this day! It was such a special moment for the two of them.
The firstlook was one of Layla and Ben’s favorite parts of the day. After the firstlook, the two set sail on the Narragansett Bay. Typically, this means that we spend about two to three days building out the reception space. Not to mention- these photos are absolutely stunning.
Hint: most photographers take payments in 2-3 installments: 1st payment is the deposit, the remainder is due at varying times before the wedding. How much do you require for a deposit? When is it due? What is your payment schedule like? When is the remaining balance due? The exact payment schedule varies from photographer to photographer.)
While Mema Creations and Fabstylist Sharntai Harris worked their magic on the beautiful bride, vendors were hard at work downstairs in the ceremony and reception spaces. The flowers were show stopping, from the ceremony arch to the organic centerpieces to the unique customized candles that looked like flowers themselves.
For the reception, we used wildflowers, bark, and blooming branches for the pillars around the dance floors, and placed lots of candles on the tables. When I was planning the reception dinner, I had a clear vision of the space and atmosphere that I wanted to create. I stumbled upon this exquisite window installation by Aiku Floral.
Mixing elements of Mayas Indian roots, Mayas bridesmaids wore traditional vibrant colored sarees, creating a garden look when all together. Maya slipped into her Galia Lahav gown and made her way to her husband to be for a firstlook & to kick off the vibrant wedding day!
