Southern Posies has planned and flowered all three of the Gilmore Girls wedding! And at every sister’s wedding, they wanted a headtable to be able to share their first married meal with their family!
Guests were seated at two headtables spanning the family living room of her childhood home, and additional seating continued on both the front and back patios, as well as around the family pool.[/field] She prepared a family style dinner to be served to each table, featuring the bride and groom’s favorite dishes.
Neutrals of bone, sand, camel, leather and coffee earth tones paired with dijon, butter yellow, soft rose and varying shades of green, along with accents of black and gold with touches of stone and pops of dyed denim weaved through the dress code, decor details and flowers for the wedding, walking a beautiful line between high contrast and softness.[/field]
This A-line gown, embroidered with floral applique had a glitter tulle and bows on the shoulders. [/field] [field title=”Florals & Decor”]The florals were colorful bold and fun. There were patterns brought to life on the table with multiple texture elements. The headtable was a beautiful BBJ La Tavola linen.
There was a fun element where the groom’s father sang some songs with the band. field] [field title=”Special Detail #1″]There were so many fun and unexpected details at Mary and Tom’s wedding. We had a drumline rev things up and even had the groom participate as he was formerly in a marching band.

Wonder Cake Creations Sarasota made a custom Groom’s Cake in the shape of a Cabo Arch, which featured Red Velvet with Cream Cheese Filling. With the help of Claudia and Pamela (our amazing wedding planners), we were able to make the vision come to life. Our biggest splurge on the wedding day was the flowers! Totally worth it, especially the flowers above the headtable and the stage. The flowers really tied together the entire wedding design.
She even sourced gorgeous silk white bows for the inner ceremony seats that were later moved to the headtable. I purchased my weddinggown at Ivory & White Bridal Boutique in Mountain Brook, Alabama. The dress was “Harper Gown” in the color steel blue stretch! Hers: Skinny Margarita & His: Vodka, ginger ale, lemon & lime or as the groom likes to call it, his “Golf Cocktail.”
From the bride… Another memorable item on the day was a necklace I wore, which my mom gave to me on the wedding day. The bride wanted the headtable to feel as though you were dining amongst the flowers in an upside down garden. The combination of natural beauty and floral elegance was magical.

Fun, flirty and a little unexpected!
The voluminous skirt was detachable so she could go from a show-stopping and romantic look at a ceremony to a chic and refined ensemble at the reception. [/field] [field title=”Florals & Decor”] D’marosay’s wedding vision was to include lots of textures over patterns- just like her gown!
The structure over the headtable was a little something special for the bride and groom and wedding party. Her fun reception dress was Carolina Herrera from Bergdorf Goodman. They brought our vision to life perfectly, it was a design request from the start of planning and really set the tone for the reception.

The aim was to create an elegant wedding celebration that was chic and eclectic with both traditional and contemporary French touches! field] [field title=”Proposal Story”] For the bride’s birthday, the groom said they’d be visiting Paris! The headtable was definitely the stand out!
We chose an all-inclusive headtable with our wedding party to allow us to take in the celebration feeling like we were amongst everyone we love. The Mixology by Melissa team ensured the cocktails were personal to us and an experience all on their own. For us, our ceremony had to accomplish two things in this regard.

The groom proposed in Charleston, SC shortly before the pair graduated college.[/field] The Taylor Swift-inspired butterfly cake on the headtable was the crown jewel among cake pops, macaroons, cookie bars and even more cakes! The bride’s love for Taylor Swift also had its moments throughout the day too![/field]
The wedding party then shuttled down to Forge in the Forest in Carmel-by-the-Sea, a Clint Eastwood hang out spot, for the welcome party. The bride stunned in her embroidered mini Zimmerman dress and the groom looked suave in his Suit Supply garb. They hung chandeliers in the tree behind the headtable. I look so cool!”
I found vintage peacocks at an antique store for the headtable, and used them in my invites and wedding signage. I wore my grandma’s vintage clip on earrings that my mom wore on her wedding day. And I picked a floral Monique Lhuillier wedding dress to go with my love of all things colorful and romantic.”[/field]

I loved the dainty and ethereal look of baby’s breath, which we incorporated into my bridesmaids bouquets, headtable runner and some tall “cloud” like table arrangements.
It was the perfect spot to listen to music, have a glass (or mini bottle) of champagne, and ease the anxiety until she was ready to see her groom. The gals wanted to soak in all of the moments for her big day and decided to squeeze in a celebratory toast before heading down the hall for her fathers first look and first look with her groom!
The room was flipped during cocktail time, so when you re-entered the reception, a long headtable sat where the original aisle was during the ceremony. We filled in a lush and long row of baby’s breath down the length of the table.
The focal point of the ceremony was the stunning floral arbor, which continued to dazzle guests behind the bride and groom at the headtable. Florist Mallory Joyce exceeded expectations, bringing their vision to life with organic designs that mimicked the natural growth of flowers in their surroundings.
Anything that I could have dream up in my head was right in front of me, so we just built upon it from the pocket gardens on the headtable to the greenery attached to all of the existing bistro lights. We recreated it and applied it to the entire venue. It was from the Amsale Spring show in 2002.
