During the wedding planning, Mary a 3rd grade teacher at Pinecrest Elementary in Miami had gone viral for her teaching style (@maryisbannans) which incorporates her love of the Miami Dolphins, football and life lessons for her kiddos. This was all happening during the wedding planning. It was now Mary’s turn to be the bride.
An evening that harmoniously married the laid-back charm of rustic country settings with the opulence and grandeur of your extraordinary wedding. I didnt know it could get any better until our wedding weekend was over. I grew up driving past this venue, never gaining too much hope haha but secretly envisioned my own wedding there.
The wedding day design embodied a relaxed elegance reminiscent of Serena and Lily, featuring a mix of patterned linens, rattan accents, and clusters of blue and white florals. The headtable was a focal point of beauty, adorned with cascading chandeliers, a monochromatic floral runner, and custom linens paired with coordinating menus.

For the reception, we brought the botanical garden indoors with plenty of florals for each table. They had a tower of donut cake with a small special cake as the topper.

Coincidentally, my brother, who was working in Wyoming, was headed to the lake with us. After a full day on the lake, we headed to Haydens house to get ready for dinner at The Summit Club. Luke and Lexies favorite spot has always been Querencia, so when it came time to choose a wedding venue, it only made sense to do it there! Our biggest splurge on the wedding day was the flowers! The inspiration behind them was doing an overhang over the headtable of lush pink and white flowers with greenery mixed in. It was glamorous and pretty but cool.
[/field] [field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”] Our wedding venue, The Inn at Barley Sheaf Farm, made you feel like you were stepping into a European countryside farmstead. The food at Barley Sheaf was phenomenal, with many guests telling us it was the best wedding food theyd ever had.
We brought in lucite/acrylic in with the chairs, headtable “acrylic” place mats, and lucite napkin rings. With the color that came through in the floral and tables, the bride had her bridesmaids in white to create a very modern look with wedding party and ceremony moments.

With only a few weeks left of school, we discovered wed both be in Europe after graduation. After traveling separately, we reunited in Prague and explored Switzerland and Italy together. Each new place brought unforgettable experiences, and it was during this time we realized our connection was growing into love. I highly recommend them.[/field]
The headtable was also a showstopper, adorned with a stunning long and low arrangement that traversed the entire length of the table. field] [field title=”WeddingCake”]The couples dessert table was a beautiful highlight of the celebration.
From the couple… Will has a very special watch that he wore for the day of the wedding, his late brother Nicholas’s watch. The bride wanted the headtable to feel as though you were dining amongst the flowers in an upside down garden. Will had every detail planned for the moment.

[section title=”The Planning”] [field title=”Wedding Colors”] It was an all-white wedding. Held at Quail Ranch , an upscale California wedding venue with expansive plantlife, the grounds flourished with avocado and citrus orchards.
We also knew that we wanted one VERY LONG headtable where we were surrounded by all of our closest friends and family — one long table with about 50 people & it was PERFECT! All the classic wedding songs & our band was INSANE!!! Fun, flirty and a little unexpected! They crushed it!!!
In addition to weddingcake, a dessert bar was on display with mini eclairs, tarts, French macarons, and creme puffs.[/field] It was magical.[/field] Being seaside, guests enjoyed fresh seafood of jumbo prawns and oysters during cocktail hour. A plated meal was served for dinner of sea bass and filet mignon.
One over the headtable & one over the incredible dancing area. field] [field title=”WeddingCake”]Greige Milwaukee – a stunning all-white cake that was the centerpiece of the reception room. This wedding really was everything I had dreamed of. People had flown from around the country.
We wanted to incorporate the landscape into their wedding design and feel like their wedding really was part of the rolling hills of the Carneros Region. field] [field title=”WeddingCake”]We had a blast cake tasting and bringing this beauty to life with the team at Flour & Bloom. Their plated meal started with a first course of curried crab cakes with mango chutney on top. Soon, he was on one knee with a beautiful ring, and of course, I said yes!

From the bride- “For the wedding I kept the inspiration of vintage, colorful, and romantic for the design and Emily at Bird Dog was the perfect person to help bring it to life! I found vintage peacocks at an antique store for the headtable, and used them in my invites and wedding signage.
The Taylor Swift-inspired butterfly cake on the headtable was the crown jewel among cake pops, macaroons, cookie bars and even more cakes! The main cake, was topped with two puppies. The puppy cake toppers were a total surprise!!! From the bride. A ceremony little me dreamed about!!!
Rehearsal Dinner Dress: Cara’s rehearsal dinner dress was her mother’s wedding dress, reconstructed and reimagined by Lovellfaye. Serving as the pièce de résistance, a magnificent cascading floral runner adorned the headtable, commanding attention with its sheer beauty.

I kept thinking about the day that my children and grandchildren would look back at our wedding photos and hoping they would see our collaborative efforts in a timeless way. First, I did not want people to be able to tell in which year we were married. Second, I did not want to pick details seen on repeat at other events. It felt different.
The aim was to create an elegant wedding celebration that was chic and eclectic with both traditional and contemporary French touches! For the reception space, bunches of tulips lined the two headtables bring a feeling of organic elegance. The surrounding tables were adorned with bunches of other white flowers from roses to hydrangeas creating a frame of texture yet allowing the tulips to be the stand out moment. Arches were carried through the entire wedding day starting with a triple arch ceremony backdrop, then into the cocktail hour with a cane arch bar with dusty pink barstools and arch gold back bars.[/field] So by the time we were on our way I was kinda bummed with myself for getting my hopes up. We chose an all-inclusive headtable with our wedding party to allow us to take in the celebration feeling like we were amongst everyone we love. The Mixology by Melissa team ensured the cocktails were personal to us and an experience all on their own. What we didn’t expect to find was our person.
Much like the wedding decor, the dress was the perfect combination of sophistication, romantic charm and whimsy. The focal point of the ceremony was the stunning floral arbor, which continued to dazzle guests behind the bride and groom at the headtable.
I had been to one spectacular wedding where the ceremony was held in San Francisco City Hall and knew that we had to tour it for our special day. My vision was a classic, elegant, and romantic city wedding that enhanced the already amazing venue. When my mom and I toured City Hall we realized it was the perfect venue.
It only made sense to then plan their own wedding in Wine Country, celebrating their love story in one of the most sought-after wine regions of the world! Doing some research on her profile, James picked up that Courtney enjoyed wine in her free time and asked her out to a wine bar (robberbaron) in Russian Hill on August 21, 2019.
