We wanted the wedding to be timeless, elegant, and romantic. Plus, the venue is beautiful with many colorful plants and trees. We wanted to compliment the beauty of the venue and not compete with it. With the help of Claudia and Pamela (our amazing wedding planners), we were able to make the vision come to life.
We brought in lucite/acrylic in with the chairs, headtable “acrylic” place mats, and lucite napkin rings. With the color that came through in the floral and tables, the bride had her bridesmaids in white to create a very modern look with wedding party and ceremony moments.
[/field] [field title=”Design / Vibe / Vision”] The vision behind the wedding was shades of pink with lots of lush pink florals and greenery mixed in. The inspiration behind them was doing an overhang over the headtable of lush pink and white flowers with greenery mixed in. It was glamorous and pretty but cool.
[section title=”The Planning”] [field title=”Wedding Colors”] Blends of reds and fuschias with a soft blue as our accent color – my vision was to be bright and fun mixed with some timeless! The food at Barley Sheaf was phenomenal, with many guests telling us it was the best wedding food theyd ever had.

Guest tables dazzled with Anna Petal white linens, floral chargers, and champagne napkins, all paired with glimmering gold chairs and glassware for a touch of glow. The focal point headtable commanded attention with overhead floral globes, abundant garlands, and ample candlelight.[/field] It was one of the most magical moments!
They spoke often about how beautiful it was and told me that I should consider it as a weddingvenue. Much like the wedding decor, the dress was the perfect combination of sophistication, romantic charm and whimsy. The focal point of the ceremony was the stunning floral arbor, which continued to dazzle guests behind the bride and groom at the headtable.
I had been to one spectacular wedding where the ceremony was held in San Francisco City Hall and knew that we had to tour it for our special day. When my mom and I toured City Hall we realized it was the perfect venue. My vision was a classic, elegant, and romantic city wedding that enhanced the already amazing venue.
For the seating chart, we chose locations from animated films and games, and then placed people at the tables who we thought would be most likely to guess the location or reminded us of that film or game in some way. Stef worked with Hawaii’s top wedding/floral designer Debbie on the overall design.

It was a massive undertaking: 240 guests at each location, 2 venue relocations, 6 or 7 floor plan revisions, 2-flips of the event space from ceremony to reception, multiple rental teams, complex production and logistics, and over 8 load-ins per venue.
We included one stately 40 person headtable to center the room and implemented a cascading greenery ceiling installation to help draw even more attention to it.
