Before I get into what is probably going to come off as me bashing Pinterest, let me just say I love using Pinterest as a reference ! When I make moodboards, I’m usually starting with Pinterest, then hitting Google & Insta if I can’t find what I’m looking for. Because that means it hasn’t been done yet!
This can be done by sending out appropriate color palettes, moodboards, dress and suit inspiration, or even making an entire Pinterestboard for the wedding day dress code aesthetics. In order to avoid the problem, try creating specific dress codes that get sent out with your invitations!
Pinterest has become a vital platform for wedding professionals to showcase their work, inspire couples, and attract clients. We know that couples and their entourage use Pinterest daily, scrolling through curated content and searching for specific keywords. Pinterest is also a search engine. Luckily, that’s why I’m here!
Best Wedding Planning Apps for Inspiration Pinterest Price: Free Why we love it: According to Pinterest’s audience breakdown , 60% of wedding planning couples on Pinterest say that it’s the first place they go when planning a wedding. And there’s a reason for that.
Video and Idea Pins – Pinterest is prioritizing video and Idea Pins (read: giving this type of content more impressions) so it is a good use of your time to create them. Moodboards – Part of the reason you market your business with inspiration and design ideas is to attract couples who want to do things you have yet to do.
Because images are key in telling a design story, we utilize Pinterest, working from a secret board. From there, I create a moodboard which formalizes the “look”. This board consists of literal images, such as the invitations that were ordered, as well as figurative ones (ie. bridal bouquet).
By sharing the content on LinkedIn, and primarily on Pinterest, I’m driving a lot more traffic to my website beyond organic search. By the way, having two links to share the same portfolio images is helpful for Pinterest strategy. Or even moodboards inspired by seasons or what caught your eye on Pinterest and Instagram lately.
And even with a ton of effort on Instagram, Pinterest consistently brings most of that traffic from social media. If you’re only using Pinterest to save inspiration, you’re making a big mistake. I know we hate hearing this, but in the wedding industry we need to approach Pinterest from a content creator perspective as well.
Dive into wedding blogs and directories , start a Pinterestmoodboard to help you catalogue the things you like. Once you have an idea of the kind of wedding you want to have, take some time to really get inspired. Now is the time to immerse yourself in wedding world!
If your priority for your wedding is the look and feel, hiring a planner who is also a great stylist or designer guarantees that you have someone who can inspire you beyond the pins on your Pinterestmoodboard. Quiet periods and lulls in the day are not conducive to an epic party.

It's something I talk about from the get go during consultations, I then include moodboards and lots of imagery throughout our proposals and discuss the design from the start so my clients understand the built-in expectations that we are a design-focused planner. So it's almost built in at this point.
